Genealogy

I've lost an overwhelming number of hours of my life to researching my genealogy... I started back in December 2000, by causually browsing my Uncle Kelly's (yes uncle) compiled data. I was curious to see if the rumors I heard as a child were true... What rumors you ask? Here are a few of them:

I am supposively a descendent of Lord Fairfax, who was a major land owner in the Virginia area before the Revelutionary War. Although I have not been able to find a direct connection, I have found family that had many land desputes with him, possible Romeo/Juliet story? Not sure, but hope to find out.

It is also rumored that we are descendents of Roger Williams, the co-founder of Rhode Island. I have traced my WILLIAMS line back to a James WILLIAMS born in the 1770's, unfortunately I have at least three more generations to go to make a connection, as Roger lived from December 21, 1603 to April 1, 1684...

As I decide the best way to get my genealogy information on to this site, I'll start posting more, until then, you can contact me if you have any questions.

My Aunt Kelly (no relation to Uncle Kelly) has been working on this side for quite a while... she has tons of notes, unfortunately they are not yet entered into a computer... I've been trying to set up an easy method for my family to collaborate and get this information on disk for some time now, just haven't found the right software.
